(New York, NY) November 13, 2017 – Ailey Extension welcomes leading dancers from Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater to teach three special workshops during the company’s New York City Center holiday season (November 29 – December 31). Former Ailey dancer and creator of Ailey Barre Sarita Allen teaches choreography from Alvin Ailey’s popular work Night Creature, and company members Hope Boykin and Michael Jackson, Jr. lead workshops that will feature Alvin Ailey’s signature style and expand the artistic range of students.
Each summer, Ailey Extension invites students to take their dancing to another level and unleash their inner performer. Beginner and advanced beginner dancers are welcomed to enroll in a four-week Summer Performance Workshop to learn and showcase choreography from some of Ailey Extension’s top instructors.
This summer, Ailey Extension is launching new weekly classes and one-time-only workshops for adults and even for the entire family. From dance fitness to bellydance to yoga classes, there’s something for students of all levels and backgrounds.
To celebrate Women’s HERstory Month in March, Ailey Extension presents two workshops to promote health awareness and empower women of all shapes and sizes.
