Ailey Extension opens its doors this summer to kids and teens, offering three immersive, multi-day training workshops taught by New York City’s top choreographers and master teachers. Ailey Experience NYC Jr., Ailey Experience NYC, and Fabrice Herrault’s Ballet Summer Intensive allow young dancers to learn technique, musicality, and artistry.
This summer, Ailey Extension is launching new weekly classes and one-time-only workshops for adults and even for the entire family. From dance fitness to bellydance to yoga classes, there’s something for students of all levels and backgrounds.
Ailey Extension celebrates NYC Dance Week, a citywide festival from June 15-24, by offering 30 free dance and fitness classes for new students. Continuing through Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s Lincoln Center engagement June 14-18, free classes will be held at The Ailey Studios – home to the world-renowned Ailey dancers – featuring nearly all of Ailey Extension’s 25 techniques, many taught with live accompaniment.

Ailey Extension’s annual World Dance Performance Workshops kick off the week of April 9th, bringing together all communities to celebrate and share rich heritages from around the world. For eight weeks, students will be immersed in traditional dance styles and cultural rhythms through weekly two-hour workshops taught by renowned Ailey Extension instructors.
